Paying someone for a photoshoot?

Postby SforSancho » Wed Feb 22, 2012 10:54 pm

I'm about to part out my beloved Miata. Time to move on, plus I already have a few car projects in the wings to distract me for the next few years. V8 ones :)

Anyway, has anyone paid a photographer to shoot their car? I'm thinking I'll want some good, high quality pictures in it's final configuration when I start regretting selling it six weeks later. Car has a slight blemish on the rear bumper that I made worse with touch-up paint, so if there are any shots from the rear, could they do some photoshop work?

If I had a decent DSLR, I'd give it a shot (get it? A shot?)

I am pretty good at removing blemishes in phootoshoop, so if after the shoot is done you want some touchups (major or minor) done, hit me up.

Just a fun sort of thing. I have a number of offers already apparently, just browsing through my inbox. Boy NCR is huge on photography

What would something like this cost? Do we meet at some predetermined location? Picked by the photographer or me? Is it possible to get a few different backdrops done in one day? I'd love to get some shots in SF, just so that if I ever move out of the Bay Area, I can associate the locale with the car.

Two of those shots above were with a 4S. I suppose I could use some assistance with lighting and composition, but otherwise, I don't think the iPhone is going to do much better
