October 3-4, 2015
Miatas at Mazda Raceway is back!

It only seems like yesterday that we all met to celebrate the 25th Anniversary with a world record gathering of Miatas. What a weekend!

Are you ready to go back?
We’re happy to announce that we have secured October 3-4 for this year. Registration will open on February 15th at 9am PST.

Some highlights to look forward to:
• An extra intermediate run group to give more people an opportunity to get on track on Saturday
• Free BBQ as part of early check-in on Friday afternoon at Embassy Suites parking lot as in previous years
• Parade laps at lunch on both Saturday and Sunday
• Exhibition race on Sunday
• The Saturday banquet is back - more details to come
• We’re working on some other surprises we can’t yet tell you about. But you know we always find something cool to surprise and delight.
We have been able to secure excellent group rates at three main local hotels. It’s the high season for the area, so make your reservations soon. More hotel information - http://www.miatasatmazdaraceway.com/hotel.php

As noted, hot lap registration opens at 9am PST on February 15th. Even with the extra run group on Saturday, we know the spots will sell out very quickly. And a reminder – please make sure to sign up for the group that fits your level of car preparation and driving experience. You can find more details on our hot lap section of the site.

Please watch our dedicated forum on Miata.net (http://forum.miata.net/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=143)and our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/MiatasatMRLS) for other updates and discussions. As last year, the event website (http://www.miatasatmazdaraceway.com/) remains the official source of all information and will also be updated regularly.

See you in October!

Excellent idea. The "mandated" parking system - because the paddock was so very crowded :P - will undoubtedly not be in effect. Therefore - we could have a NCR paddock area with both hot laps and not hot laps attendees  - do our own BBQ lunch? Because open flames are just what T needs near his e85 jugs.

I will be driving both days - in the almost advanced group because it's where I belong.

So the cam angels will be smiling on you and get their cam wizard to cooperate?

That just doesn't sound safe or sensible vs. my proposed way we should start the BBQ.

I'm debating buying a slot in the hot laps... in case my car is track-legal by October... They have a really good refund policy. Or I could sell it to the highest bidder.

You wouldn't have any problems selling your slot(s) if you end up not needing them.

I think I'll stick with a roll bar. It's cheaper.

Babies also make track days much more complicated. Been there, done that. :)

Assuming I wake up in time to register, I'll be there both days in A again. Already made my hotel reservation.

M@MRLS registration is this Sunday at 9AM for the hot laps (track day). And things fill up fast. So I'm registering at 9:00:00.1 AM using my cesium clock as reference, of course accounting for relativistic effects.

I will be in B (Advanced) both days so I'm not a moving chicane for those in A (Expert) like Ian.

A suggestion. Since there are two C (Intermediate) run groups on Saturday (C1 and C2), if all the NCR people in C registered for the same group (I'll suggest C2) then the in-between run group banter will be more fun for all.

Signed up for B both days. Ill probably bring the support car with all the e85. As time gets closer we should figure it all out as far as the bbq goes.

Bill could you make some giant ass NCR decals so we can put them on my ez-up and we can make NCR HQ?

Certainly!

I think we should also make a VIP area under part of the ez-up - just for members of the Audi Miata Subcult. Very exclusive - need the secret handshake to get in. Note to self - we need a secret handshake.

A note to non-hot lappers. It's free to attend as a "participant." They still want you to register. It's a fun time and there should be a display of the ND, plus other Mazda race and concept cars.

We are an inclusive exclusive club. So all VAG products qualify. Audi, VW, Ducati, even Lambos. Got a SEAT, come on down. However no Veyrons!

What if I traded my VAG for a Miata?

Also, I have the one and only official NCR banner, that hasn't been used in quite some time due to my inability to ever go to anything...I think this could be a worthy time for its return into the sunlight.

Yes, trading a VAG product (except, again, a Veyron) for a Miata does qualify for SubCult membership.

The qualification rules are secret, constantly changing and can be modified via low-level bribery.

It has collected many members' signatures during its heyday, I shall post a picture of its current state at some point in the near future.
