Good place to get an alignment near redwood city?

Postby gesso » Wed Sep 03, 2014 9:17 am

I need to get the Exocet aligned before MRLS and given it's bright red, loud, tube frame nature I figure I should get it done close to home. If no ones got a good suggestion I'll just take it to some random shop but I figured I'd ask here first.

I used to go to Specialty Alinement, but they closed.

The only other place I'd recommend is Agundis Tire in SSF.

Call Edge in MTV. Drop it off and walk/hitch to work :)

I usually go to Wheel Works in front of Target, they do a pretty good job. They used to let me sit in the car while they aligned it, but as of a few weeks ago, apparently they can't do that anymore...I was a little disappoint. That was due to them being bought by Bridgestone, or so I was told. I was also told that they can't install parts that customers bring in anymore, so I don't know how they'll feel about putting something like an Exocet on the rack nowadays. Worth a call, at least.

Thanks for the replies!

I transfer up to San Fransisco, so MTV's in the wrong direction now, so no go on EDGE.

I'll call wheel works in the morning and see what they say about doing it (and try to come up with ~200lbs worth of stuff to leave in the front seat...)

I work at a shop in Hayward called jb autoworkz and can do the alignment for you. I also don't care if you sit in the car during it. And as far as parts I'll install parts even if you buy your own we just don't warrenty them. This goes for the op lanny or any one else just pm me if you need something done we are open Monday-Friday 9-6

Not sure when you're planning on going, but I'll be there Saturday morning. I'd love to see the Exocet...

This is how it should be, and how it used to be at the RWC Wheel Works. Stupid corporate bullshit... I'll probably be looking for a new tire and alignment place once my current alignment warranty runs out.

Holy balls. WW quoted me $140 for an alignment and that's when I told them it was a Miata. F* that.

I may be hitting you up this afternoon proughj.

Saturday morning I'll either be at Laguna Seca or I'll be in my garage furiously working on the car so its ready for Sunday :)

I ended up going to Big O across the street from WW in RWC. They got me in immediately and were happy to do it once I showed them that it was just Miata suspension. They also let me talk with the tech while he was doing the alignment and adjusted it as I requested (though they would not let me sit in the car).

Also as a useful note, their alignmnet rack/lift is recessed in the floor so there's no issue with getting really low cars on it.
