1.5 hours of waiting.

I wanted something a bit different than the usual 13B or FD or Rotary plates. FLMTHWR was taken, so I had to use the alternative. Fortunately, I think the "7" works out in my favor.

Minor update - I got my 99 spec cluster installed, including the required wiring for the factory boost gauge and ground wire. but the tach doesn't work. I didn't drive it out of the garage, so I'm not sure if it fixed my intermittent speedometer. Guess it's time for more electrical troubleshooting..the worst.

I spent some time this weekend working on the headlights. The Hella projector housings needed some modification and trimming before I could mount them to the adapter plates.
Image

The OEM headlight buckets then needed some areas cut so that the headlight stop could be relocated and so the bulb connectors could fit.
Image

Here's a pic of them mounted before the shrouds, then after.
Image
Image

I have to adjust the beams before I put the CF shrouds on, so I figured that I may as well put on couple coats of clear before I mount them. I'll snap a pic of them once I'm done.

I spent the last few days sanding and applying a new clear coat on a lip spoiler, cleaning up/trimming the projector covers, and adding clear coat on those as well. Here's some pics - I think the results look great for a rattle can job and some elbow grease.

Also, I ordered a set of tires last week and they finally came in. I've been eyeing the Federal 595 RS-RR's for the last 6 months and they finally landed stateside. They're super cheap for what they are and are supposed to be better than the previous model (595 RS-R).

Update:

I got a few things installed over the last few weeks - the most noticeable being the new wheels and tires. I had to get the fronts rolled to fit them, but the rears just clear.
Image

test fit

I decided to give white sidewall lettering a go and I'm 50-50 about it. I think my exterior mods are a bit too clean/oem right now to properly pull it off. I followed some online advice about using a sharpie paint pen and it looked good, but it cracked horribly a few days later, so I removed all of the white lettering.
Image
Image

I also got a functional 99 spec cluster. The seller was great and had no problems exchanging the one I originally had. After some electrical work, I was able to convert this odometer to Miles. I calibrated the speedo but left it in KPH, though it's easy enough to calibrate it to MPH if I change my mind.

before, Km

after, Miles

And last, some flames.

I have some things on order that I hope to have installed before Sevenstock. Hopefully, they don't take too long to make...I was told it could be as long as 8 weeks.

Nice chatting with some of you guys last night.

Mini update - it was dark and hard to see last night, but these are the floor mats I'm currently rocking. They were an OEM option from Japan. I got them for a great price, so I figured that I'll hold on to them for now and just sell them for the same price or more when I get bored of them.

I'm changing things up already - this is turning into a project like my first S2k where I just keep rotating out parts. I'll be changing my steering wheel soon so i'm putting the stock one back on.

Hey Ian, if you're looking for a OEM Nardi, let me know. I'll sell you mine for $175.

Sure, no problem. I'm not in a hurry so feel free take your time. I'm heading to Japan mid-Oct for 2 weeks anyway.

I'm back from Japan. Let me know if you're still interested.

I picked up a spare, wingless hatch before I left. Still deciding if I want to keep it since they're hard to come by, use it for a wing, or just sell it..

Not too much to update. I have tons of parts to install, but with traveling and cold weather, and mostly from being lazy, they're just piling up. Literally.
Image
-OEM 99 Spec front lip
-Shine Sanai style rear diffuser
-Shine Feed style side diffusers
-Shine tail light spoiler
-a roll of CF vinyl

I'm not much of a faux-CF fan, but I saw this particular one in person and was pretty surprised. I wanted a CF front lip, but since front lips take so much abuse, I decided that I'll just wrap mine instead.

I found a detailer who has some really good prices for paint correction plus ceramic coating. I'll post up results after I get the work done.
