Elderly friend in Santa Rosa seeking help with NB top

Postby maxh2o » Wed May 08, 2019 4:38 pm

She's looking to replace her top and was recently quoted $2k. I've replaced two tops myself and would do it for her, but I just don't have the time. Anyone looking to earn a quick $500-$600 for an afternoon of work?

There was a guy in the north bay who did Miata top replacements under the company name Miata Top Works, and it looks like he is still active: https://miatatopworks.com/prices.html

Prices are pretty reasonable, and damn well less then $2k.

In the fall of 2013 he came to my place of work in North San Jose and installed a new top (Robbins 2901) on my NA for $800 including parts, labor and travel. Looks like prices have crept up with inflation a bit, but still reasonable IMO.

He did a great job and the whole thing was very convenient--he did the job in the parking lot (with empty spaces on both sides) while I was at work.

I and a friend from work have also used Miatatopworks in the last year or two. Recommendation seconded.
