bought this

Postby ttcheung97 » Thu Jan 06, 2011 4:07 pm

http://www.hiwheel.com/antique_replicas/boneshaker_classic.htm

Been wanting one for a while, but the price new was too much to swallow. Accidentally came across it on CL and bought it at a nice price. It's parked in my cube, and coworkers have tried and fallen (some harder than others).

It is quite an experience.

Do you know someone who wants to buy or sell a house? I'll buy a $500 car part, when we close escrow as a "thank you" to you for the introduction.

There's a peg on the back that you use to mount on. To dismount, you can either use your left foot and reach back for the peg, or you can dismount like how you would off a horse, but that one is a lot riskier.

i'm ready to join the circus. This thing literally stops traffic during my lunch rides.

that is way cool, but you would not catch me on it. I would most likely leave a sizeable dent in the pavement if when I fell over.

people have endo'd over, fallen to the side, projected from it (even when the bike was not moving). the cranks are bent in noticeably that it "yaws" a bit when you're pedaling.

i'm doing this new "dismount" now. instead of using the peg on the back, I'm dismounting like how one would do so on a horse. pretty scary though.
