The new whip

Postby Qckslvr » Fri Mar 20, 2015 9:34 pm

Well a rather unfortunate situation hit me.

I lost my job........

So I sold my house, have a buyer for my 2013 Mustang, and been ebaying stuff like a mad man. I also sold the P1800, but I kept my GSXR-1000. The Volvo is reliable and I love the car, but if something happened to it I would totally freak out. I needed a fun low cost car.......

So I picked up a 1991 Miata!. Some might recognize the car, I picked her up in south San Francisco. She has a long nose crank, rebuilt head, timing belt, Bilsteins with ground control coil overs, JR sways, frame rails, 15x7s, 1.8 brakes, 1.8 Torsen diff, and a factory hard top. She isn't pretty, and I love the car for it.

Stuff I got ordered, fender flares, new spoiler, low-pro headlight kit, and a Bell Alpha Omega turbo kit with Megasquirt. (The Volvo sold well :p)

Been driving the car around past couple days. It doesn't have the hole shot like my 5.0 did, but my 5.0 can't take the corners like this Miata can. :D

Yup it was Jess' car.

She took good care of it. :) Now I shall do my best take good care of it.

I noticed a couple of the Retro Modern decals inside :) Some where I have Nor Cal Roadster decals, but I can't seem to locate them...... Did find a whole stack of Miataturbo.net decals though

I also (half-)considered buying from Jess. Sad to hear about the job, but happy to see this car having a certain future.

The job thing sucks..... Luckily I can go a few years with no work if need be. So I am going to take a little vacation, maybe do Japan like I always wanted to do.

Want to thank Ron for the good deal on a used top, mirrors, door card, etc. At least now I can put the top down in the summer, need to do some repairs on the hard top too. I think it needs new plastic insulators in the rear.

Fender flares came in today for the car, and I had a new set of Bridgestone RE11s mounted today as well.

I am still debating taking the DA to the body, and repainting it since I have the spare time. Whatever that paint is on the car..... it is thick.... like Costco Bed Liner stuff. Jess wasn't to sure what the previous owner used either.

So it weighs roughly twice what a miata normally weighs

not sure if I should believe them, but BEGi claims I shall have the turbo kit with MSPNP sitting on my door step in 2 weeks.

Although Corky himself said six weeks last week LOL
