Stolen: Craftsman top chest with many tools

Postby llltonic » Tue Jan 06, 2015 7:39 pm

Happy New Year's to me: the garage door in my apartment building broke on New Year's eve, was then left open all night, and someone walked off with my top chest and most of my mechanic's tools.

I've got a police report out, and naturally I'm trolling craigslist and eBay like an MFer, but I'd sure appreciate if everyone could keep an eye out for me. Here's my craigslist post:

And here's the complete list of what got stolen:
Tools include:
1. Milwaukee cordless drill 18V with charger and two batteries in red blow-molded case
2. Bosch router and various bits in blue/green blow-molded case
3. Dewalt biscuit joiner in black blow-molded case
4. Craftsman mechanic tool set, complete socket and wrenches, in black blow-molded case
5. Schumacher 6amp battery charger
6. Ross-Tech Hex-USB+CAN OBDII interface for VAG.
7. Generic OBDII Bluetooth interface (ELM327)
8. Red Craftsman 6 drawer top chest, black drawers, locked, with many identifying stickers, including:
- "Huckleberry" with afro logo, black on white
- San Francisco Bicycle coalition
- H&R "Go Wide"
Chest contains:
- 1/2 inch craftsman torque wrench
- 3/8 inch craftsman Torque wrench
- 1/4 inch craftsman torque wrench
- 3/8 'digital' craftsman digitork torque wrench
- timing light (unknown brand)
- Craftsman 1/2 inch drive breaker bar, 15-inch flex handle
- craftsman combo wrench set, imperial and metric
- craftsman ratcheting combo wrench set, metric
- craftsman t-handle Allen set, metric
- craftsman Allen wrench set, imperial and metric
- craftsman plier set, needle nose, slip-joint, and channellock
- 5-piece screwdriver set, black plastic handles (unbranded)
- craftsman flare nut wrench set, metric
- Rotary knife, OLFA brand, yellow handle
- utility knife
- torx bit socket set, 3/8 inch drive, craftsman
- hex bit socket set, 3/8inch drive, ace hardware
- Irwin drill bit set
- generic compression test kit in plastic pouch
- 3-piece 02 sensor wrench kit in red blow-molded case
- ratcheting screw driver with black plastic handle (unbranded)
- screwdriver 39-piece bit set in red plastic soft case (unbranded)
- mini screwdriver socket set, 1/4-in drive, metric and imperial in yellow plastic carriers
- interior trim removal set - prybar and picks, unbranded
- drawer liners

Unfortunately, I don't have any good photos of the toolbox or most of my tools. Here's the best I've got:

That is 100% horrible. So sorry to hear about it.

If you haven't thought of this already, you should hit the Alemany Flea Market on Sunday. People with half a brain would try selling this stuff off out of the city, but fortunately most criminals are lazy and/or stupid.

Also, do you have renter's insurance? This kind of thing is probably covered.

Best luck with this.
