Performance Tires

Postby meesterlane » Wed Jan 31, 2018 4:26 am

I am planning to replace the tires on my 2004 BMW Z4 2.5i. So far, I have only checked out Toyo Tires' Versado CUV. Is anyone familiar with it?

I have not checked those out, but just looking for 30 seconds I can tell that's not a performance tire.

I don't know what plans you have for your Z4 or if it's your only car, but look into either what tire rack calls "Extreme Performance Tires" if it's your sunday funday car:

or "Max Performance Tires" if it's your everyday sporty commuter:

I am running Falken FK453's on my 2008 Audi A4 Avant and have been quite happy with them. I am about to get a new set, in this case the FK510, their latest 300TW tire. FK453's are good on the street, in the wet and the preceeding FK452's were well behaved on track too (back when I used to track the Audi).

And value priced - 235/40/18 at Tire Rack for $116 each. They are classified as an Ultra High Performance Summer. For my ultra high performance (not) street driving.

On my track day Miata I have R-compounds (R-888). They have no treadlife whatsoever but make me happy when going zoom zoom.
