Just in case you guys are interested. Saw this from CR.net and FM site.

FM little big brake kit

This product is not part of our normal inventory. It will only be available as part of a group buy. If we can get enough people to sign up, we will make them available. We won't be able to ship the parts until after the group buy is complete and production is done. If you have questions, please contact us by email or phone.
Details

A Flyin` Miata exclusive!

We know that Miata owners are always looking for ways to shed weight. Autocrossers in particular. After seeing a custom minimum weight brake system on a National level CSP car, we figured we could come up with something for everyone. So we knocked 4 lbs of unsprung weight off each front wheel by replacing the stock cast iron calipers with aluminum Wilwood parts. Along with the weight loss, we also ended up with a four-piston caliper for nice even pad pressure. And yes, we said 4 pounds of weight per corner.

The aluminum radial mount Powerlite caliper is a fairly new design from Wilwood that`s an excellent match to a quick Miata. It`s compact enough to fit around the small Miata discs, but is nice and stiff and gives even pressure across the 5 square inch pad. Since the pistons are properly sized, the stock pedal feel will not change. Porterfield, Hawk, Carbotech, Performance Friction and Wilwood all offer a full range of pads to choose from. We ship them with a set of BP10 Wilwood pads, which are a good street/autocross choice. Brake balance will not be dramatically affected unless you install a different pad type than your previous setup. If you`d like to order the kit without pads so you can source something different, the price is $399. Please note that you will have to use a pad for a Wilwood Powerlite caliper, standard Miata pads will not fit.

These are not intended to be super heavy duty track brakes. For that, we recommend our four wheel big brake kit with the heavier Dynalite calipers and two-piece rotors. These are a good street, autocross and light track option. They have better heat management than stock brakes due to the aluminum caliper, but rampaging V8s on slicks will want more.

Available to fit any 1990-05 stock Miata brake rotor. However, there`s a catch. On the smaller rotors, the caliper sits very close to the wheel mounting surface. You will have to check clearance on your wheels to confirm the caliper will clear. The smallest 9" rotor may require a spacer - a 10mm spacer will solve any clearance problem, and 5mm will likely work for most wheels. The 10" rotor setup fits many more wheels, including almost all factory wheels after 1994 - yes, including 14" ones - as well as popular aftermarket ones such as 15x8 or larger 6ULs. 11" should work with almost anything. The factory Sport rotors are actually 10.6" and the 1990-93 rotors are 9.3", we rounded off to make it easier to identify the three sizes.

1990-93 template (9" rotor)
1994-02 template (10" rotor)
2001-05 Sport template (11" rotor)

Includes calipers, pads, brackets and stainless steel lines. You will keep your existing rotor. If you`re changing rotor size, you`ll need to pick up a set of the appropriate rotors as well. This is a two-wheel kit, nothing is changed at the rear. We do offer rear brake lines if you need some.

Please note that these are a group buy product only at this time. We`ve built prototypes, but no production parts. If we get enough people, we`ll do a run of parts. We may not keep them on the shelf, so this might be a one-time offer. Also, please note that the shipping cost from the webstore will not be accurate at this time. We will contact you with the correct shipping cost once we have the parts manufactured and packed.

Did see this, I think it's a killer deal for all that's included.

Sort of interested. If it included rotors, I'd be all over it.

C'mon Robert, you know I can't just buy generic blanks. That's not overpriced enough for me. MUST GIVE AWAY ALL OF MY MONEY.

HOLY CRIKEY! Good find Peter!

FYI, FM is going to stock the "little" brake kit BTW - looks like they had substantial demand for folks running 14 inch wheels.

I just don't see the value or necessity of their (FM) kit. It is no better than OEM in braking. It is a weight savings only.
Which is why, if I were to spend my hard earned scarce dollars on car parts, I want all I can get for the price. Such as the Goodwin or 949 (same) kit for $559 that offers actual improved braking along with the weight savings.

The only reason IMO is for people running puny wheels(and tires), but weight savings and better distributed pad pressure is a plus.

Now THAT I want. I'd need something for the rear to finish it off, though.

All you need is some hotter pads, but I would recommend also installing an adjustable brake proportioning valve so you can modulate whatever setup you have(mandatory for threshold braking unless you have ABS)

Excuse me, I should have said, "need." The same way I needed wheels that are less than 10lbs, and coilovers, and poly bushings, and such. With my stock springs, my bias was absolutely perfect (front yellowstuff, rear akebono). Now that it doesn't dip as much, it needs more pressure in the rear. This clearly means that I need giant two-piece rotors and multi-piston calipers. I can't think of any other way to fix this.

I like this solution and i'm definately interested. Willwood pads are cheap and widely available, and this fits over your stock roters, which are also cheap and DISPOSABLE. Buyers of expensive rotors dont get it, its like buying food from Whole Wallet (Foods), without any added nutritional benefit :-).

I want these for my Autocross car.

* Yup, kinda my thoughts too... I always thought that a simple change to a Wilwood type caliper on the stock Miata 10.6 rotor would be an inexpensive route towards better braking...plus there is a bling factor here :D I was the first to order the kit from FM...and according to UPS, they are supposed to be delivered today!!! I'm looking forward to seeing how they work. I'll do a review once I get them installed and have a chance to beat on em a bit...

Received the FM Brake Kit this afternoon. Opened it up and here's what's inside:

1.> (2) Wilwood Powerlite Calipers (black). They are light, but physically look exactly like the Dynalites.

2.> Pair of Braided Steel Brake Lines

3.> Pair of Caliper Brackets (Purple anodized), with FM logo etched in them.

4.> Wilwood BP-10S Pads

5.> Stainless Stell Bolts for the brackets and the calipers

6.> (4) Shims

Will be doing the install tomorrow...

Can you post a picture of the pad size comparison during the install? I would expect them to be significantly larger than stock. Hell, I might even be tempted to go back to the 1.6 rotors for added weight savings.

* Craig, the pads are not "larger" than stock, but "wider" if that makes sense? The pads are basically the standard size pads for Wilwood calipers. The stock pads on the Miata are "longer."

FYI...

Craig, my 1.6 kit should be here next week, you are welcome to take a look at them and take some measurements...
