FS: 1991 Scrap turbo miata for sale

Postby Qckslvr » Tue Mar 01, 2016 8:13 am

1991 Turbo Miata whats left of it...

$2500 no low ballers.

Hard Top STOLLEN
Trunk Lid STOLLEN
Ignition system FUCKED.
Wheel Lock Key STOLLEN
Center Council FUCKED
Door Locks and trunk lock FUCKED
Full Tank of gas Gone
Shift Knob STOLLEN

They definitely tried to take the whole car but the steering wheel was in my apartment. Fucking starting to hate San Jose, in Salinas I never had this many problems.

It does not appear that they took any part of the turbo system, they were under the hood but all looks in place. The car will NOT start, the ignition system is completely fucked over as they tried to hot wire the car and cut just about every wire under the dash. They were nice enough to at least put the top up. Which is in cherry shape. This poor car can be repaired and probably put back on the street with a solid weekend of wrecking yard surfing and effort. Sorry to say though the car is getting towed back to Gonzales on a flat bed in about a hour. $2500 for the car bring a trailer, I will help load it. As for the beatrush hard top locks..... yeah worthless they cut them off.

Drop me a PM and I will respond.

If you see a fucked up hard top on CL it is most likely mine..... Decals all over the inside of it, the rear window has scratches, and there is a spot on the right side near the rear window where the fiberglass is bubbling and cracking. This hard top will be EASY to spot unless they spend a grand to fix it.

So sorry this happened.

There's a crime wave in our neighborhood in SF as well. I just put up security cams and motion activated lights. (Will report back to the group once testing/verdict is in.)

The light, which I've been happy with so far is this - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FDQPCR2%20-%20solar%20battery%20charging%20LED - solar is very nice because you don't have to run power - LEDs are bright, make about the same light as a 60W incandescent - seems well made (after three days of use)

Camera system is an Arlo from Netgear - I'm still weighing the pros/cons but I think I'm coming down on the pro side. I'm coming to the realization that a security camera is mainly about deterrence and identifying casing behavior before a crime happens. Getting a good enough shot to identify criminals at a distance at night would mean a system that would cost a zillion dollars. Plus the criminal justice system in SF is so porous that even if you would get a ID-able picture, the criminal would skate anyway. Not only me being cynical, I've been talking to a lot of police officers.

PS: I'm definitely happy with the camera mounts I got. Arlo comes with clever magnetic mounts that have a limited range of motion. These are equivalent to the Arlo extended mounts at less than half the cost - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000IDBXBO - five stars from me

Another update..... Tow Companies are assholes..... NONE of them in San Jose would tow my car to Gonzales, and I called like 8 companies. "Sorry your car got broken into... sucks to be you." So I called tow companies in Salinas..... anywhere from $600 to $1200 to tow the car.

So I got under the dash of the car and started fixing the harness. And success after about a hour the car starts and runs fine, but for some reason the LC2 Wideband is not working. So there is a plus that it starts and runs.

So $2500 firm! And you can drive it home......
it will need a trunk lid
it will need a new radio cage, they did not eff up the tombstone.... go figure
it might need a new wideband
it will need a new lock set
it will need the plastics that surround the steering column.
definitely needs a shift knob....... that was rough on the hand.
No longer needs gas :p

That really sucks! I'm sorry to hear that the car got attacked. This is getting insane. I'm hoping someone gets caught in the act soon and it can be publicized.

They cut the latches off??? That's crazy.

I hope someone catches them and really kicks the sh** out of them, justice just doesn't work. Must have been a horrible feeling to walk out and see that. Sorry man.
