The "I'll just leave this here" thread

Postby Scandinavian Flick » Thu Dec 30, 2010 5:54 pm

Found something you want to share, but don't feel it justifies a whole new thread?
Just leave it here.
Pictures, videos, articles, etc. Auto-related or not. Post and discuss freely!
Let's try to keep it SFW though. If you absolutely must, at least just make it a link...

I'll start it off with some random variety...

I recognized this song in Top Gear's xmas special. Some of the better shoegazer I've heard.

Well played Mr. Lan - wagons rule!

I will contribute... from back when F1 drivers raced all the damn time, not just in F1.

Jack Brabham/Mustang leading Jim Clark/Cortina - Oulton Park - 1964.

Dan Gurney in a Galaxie at Brands Hatch in 1963.

Yup. Almost a gazillion pages of goodness in there my good man. You should see some of the other Euros they have in there. Its almost NSFW because it will waste your entire day going through the thread.

I took my driving test in one of those... parents thought it would be easier to park than their '75 Caprice 4dr.

My personal LeMans favorite...

And for something to leave of my own... in no particular order. Last one is my Beetle at Portland Intl Raceway.

I love me some IMSA cars.

Badass IMSA silhouettes:

I don't know in what world this qualifies as a mustang, but I guess that was part of the awesomeness that was the IMSA series.

Probably the second most elegant prototype to take on la sarthe:

And my new favorite livery. I think it could go toe to toe with a John Player Special hahaha

Some beauties there silhouette. I love how some of those IMSA Porsches just hung the turbos out the back.

My vote for least elegant shape to take on La Sarthe. There's a Camaro under there somewhere - 1981 (including Cale Yarborough on driver lineup) and 1982 (including Hershel McGriff).

The 792 never ran at LeMans... it was an IMSA GTP car. Rotaries had been outlawed at LeMans after the 787 won in '91.

It was at the Historics this year, I was helping with the rotary Lola T616 C2 cars it was pitted with so I got a fairly good look at it. Strangest sounding rotary ever..

Oh man you're right. Major brain fart on my part forgetting the ban.

Have some some buses on the Unterturkheim track.

Wagons are for pussies... real men catch air off the berms in a VW Bus!

This is actually on some racetrack in Australia...
